Consistency Equals Success – 5 Simple Strategies To Create Consistency

So say you just started your very own Home Business. You are so excited, pumped up and ready to start working it right? Day one starts and there you go non stop working to get the word out. You set everything up, you are good to go… Going, going, going is your attitude! Then here comes day two and you are still pumped up, excited and working hard to get the word out! Then along comes little, old day three … still working hard but a little less enthusiasm and excitement… Then by day four what happens is you are not seeing the supposed “Instant Gratification” results. You don’t have handfuls of prospects coming to you wanting to join your opportunity or purchase your product/service.

So, get this…

This by far is the NUMBER ONE OBSTACLE people face when starting a Home Business… discouragement. You don’t see those huge numbers piling in or maybe you are not seeing any numbers at all. You feel like it is the end of the road, that it won’t work and you just wasted the money you needed to pay your utility bill with… right? WRONG!

This is where so many quit before the blessing. They are absolutely setting themselves up for failure before they even start because of their lack of patience, consistency and belief. This is the moment that TESTS YOU to see if you have what it takes to make it. If you are willing to consistently work towards your goals no matter what obstacle, wall or discouragement comes in the way!

With any goal or dream you have… it is those who do not stick with it consistently are the ones who do not achieve these goals that they so awfully want to make happen. What happens is they will get excited and get those goals in action mode. Then a week goes by and they do not see instant gratification they think is somehow possible and they eventually give up or gradually stop working towards it because of discouragement, life or so called other ‘priorities’.

This is where consistency in life and in your goals is necessary to achieving them. Also, understanding it will not happen over night and will actually take time is a great deal apart of staying consistent towards achieving success. Now with that said.. it is MORE than possible to achieve great success your first few months and hit the ground running. Myself and many others are proof of that but what you MUST UNDERSTAND is those who achieved this type of success have created networks, lists, communities, followers, etc. to gain that so impressive start…

Okay… so let’s get positive here… Consistency in all aspects of building your business is a big step towards success. Working day in and day out will ultimately bring in the numbers you are looking for. Now, I am not at all saying to work yourself like a dog by any means (you definitely can if you want to, more time invested = quicker results just don’t kill yourself!). There are MANY ways to put yourself on auto pilot (especially these days with all the new resources and programs out there that do the work for you)… my point is no matter what area of your business or in life it takes consistency to achieve any goal or dream.

1. Create a schedule. So many jump into the Network Marketing/Online Mareting world without a clue as to what to do. So much information and so little time right? This is where creating a schedule and making the time you do spend valuable towards results in your business. Start with the basics… get your marketing strategy going and simply place out tasks through out the day. Don’t allow social media sites to suck you in, the article reading to take up all of your time, etc. Have a SPECIFIC TIME for those things, for learning and growing and getting lost in the world of social media. There is a time and place for that… you must make sure you are spending your time wisely and on things that will benefit your business on a daily basis. These are required for success, but BALANCE your time and tasks.

2. Place your goals in front of you! This is a HUGE part of achieving the consistency that is required to become successful. Think about this… say your goal is to come home full time within 6 months… okay now take that goal and place it EVERYWHERE you are at the most through out the day. Above your bed placed on your ceiling so when you wake up it is the first thing you see, by your computer so you are reminded every time you are on the computer (and be honest we all know we LOVE our internet), on the front door before you walk out, on your bathroom mirror and on your car dashboard… Don’t you think that those goals will be achieved that much quicker if you are consistently REMINDED of them? There are so many places you can ensure you remind yourself all day long your goal and why you need to get on that computer and stay consistent day in and day out.

3. Knowing your WHY. Your WHY is very important to your success. It is the fuel that drives you to achieve goals. It gives you the extra little or BIG ‘UMPH’ to reach higher then you ever thought possible! A WHY is the basis behind the goal. So say for instance, like above, your goal is to come home full time in 6 months… now your WHY is your two beautiful children who need you there everyday. Your WHY is to be home with them, to spend each day with who you are supposed to, not someone who does not give a toot about your success or happiness. Your WHY is the base to your entire business and the reason why you will reach your dreams. That is why your WHY is so important! (You can add in your WHY with in your goal notes that you place EVERYWHERE, that gives you even more motivation to get it done).

4. Let the little things go sometimes. Okay, so the normal day routine is to make sure your house is clean and your laundry is done around your other mundane tasks that need to be done each day. Yes, it is great to have a clean house (Trust me I personally had to overcome a slight case of OCD myself)… but don’t make it a priority over your business. It is alright if the dishes stay in the sink every once in awhile, that you didn’t vacuum or get those clothes you just washed put away. Now I am not saying to live like a pig… I am just saying to give up a few things that are not so important for the things that ARE so important. There are many other things we do through out the day besides cleaning that go into this category, I bet you can name a few. Name yours right now!

5. Do not go to sleep until your TO DO List is done! This first of all is a great feel of accomplishment at the end of each and every day. Second, it gets all you need to get done, done! A great way to ensure you achieve this is to create your Top 5 Things To Do the night before, this integrates them into your subconscious and thus you are ready to complete them when you wake up. Every morning have your schedule and to do list in front of you. Get the tasks done that need to get done no matter what. (Just like when you have a ‘JOB’ outside the home, you have to do your tasks at work) So what is so different about your business? NOTHING! It should actually be much more important then some ‘JOB’. Make a promise to yourself that you will never go to be unless your to do list is done for the day!

So there you go… 5 simple strategies to Creating Consistency in your life…. now it is your turn! Do you have any great strategies that allow you to create consistency? Do you utilize any of these strategies yourself? We truly would LOVE to hear from you and get your feedback… it is alway much appreciated!

In addition, if you felt this helped you in any way or it can help someone else please pass it along to your Facebook, Twitter or anyone you feel would benefit from it! Thank you! Have a beautiful day!

To Your Unlimited Success,

Hey girl ~ great info you are sharing here. Don’t even get me started with the OCD on the housework :-) I quickly have to learn how to either work it in, get the family to pitch in more, or get use to the fact that sometimes its ok to leave the clothes and dishes as you suggested.

Instant Gratification and having patience are huge when starting out. It can be so disheartening to feel like you are on a treadmill going flat out and getting no where, but people need to know that all those small things add up to big things and you are going to be snowballing soon enough. The more effort and consistency you put in, the quicker this is going to happen for you :-)

    Fab post luv
    cheers ~ Nat

One of the hardest things I found when I started working from home over 5 years ago was teaching my friends that although i was physically at home, I wasn’t available for long chats and coffee any time of the day. I learned to schedule time for my friends and for myself throughout the week, just as I would if I worked in a job outside my home.

I also scheduled my housework into my out of work hours – what I didn’t get done before or after “work hours” didn’t get done until the next day.

    great post. Thank you

@Brenda Yeah, it can be very difficult trying to have friends and family understand that we are still working even though we are home. This was something I truly had to work on with my family specifically… but now is all good! I made it clear that even though I am home I am still working! Great feedback… thank you!

    Hello Jenn,

Thanks for sharing this post. I totally agree with you that consistency really is the key here…. plus being patient. I see some people when they get to the point of being discouraged, they now start to make income claims just to sign people up which is wrong. So yes just stay consistent and it will pay off in the long run. Thanks again :)

Great post, Jennifer! I agree with you that the lean times are the time that test us. However, the thing that frustrates me is how many people promise quick results and blame it on the distributor if he/she hasn’t become rich in the first month. I know that there was one business where it took me six months to get one person to join my business, and even at that, you still get people who say that it’s because “you’re not committed.” Instead, there is the possibility that people haven’t learned marketing. With that in mind, these are great things to remember while we try to learn our business and never to give up.

@Steve Thank you so much! Patience and understanding it takes time to build a business are very important also to our success. Including allowing your learning curves to come and of course pushing along no matter what! Thanks for the feedback!

    Hi Jenn
Your post came at a good time for me. I’m a good multi tasker so have been juggling a heck of a lot lately but it’s all started to slow down. Well, you’ve reminded me why – I stopped doing my TO DO LIST!!! to finish off my day! I’ve been doing it in the morning and by the time I’ve done that and other things I’m already behind and haven’t remembered half the stuff I really knew I had to do the night before. I’ll be back on track in the morning after I finish up with that TO TO LIST just now.

    Cheers, Saz.

    Hey Jenn,

this post was an excellent reminder for me, but also indicated some facts that we should pay attention too.

You should plan your day very professionally and the evening before. Write down everything what you want to have done, and when you want it done.
You´ll get much more done when you are focused on your list and know what is important to accomplish.

Have an amazing rest of your day,
