Spirituality / Personal Growth

Goals are a very important step in achieving success in your business and life. Goals give us something to focus on and strive for. What many seem to lose sight on though is that your goal must be deeper and more connected to the heart than just “making money”. Goals have to be something that is driven by your WHY. Money is great and definitely the reason why most of us got or get into Online and Network Marketing… but it is NOT ENOUGH to achieve your goals and dreams.

Examples of goals that will benefit you are:

  • Coming home full time to your children
  • Buying your very first home
  • Getting out of debt, rebuilding your credit
  • Helping with your favorite charity or local organization
  • Giving your children a college fund
  • Traveling to places you have never been before
  • Helping others achieve their dreams

See… what is great about goals is they can be anything you want them to be. But it has to be strong enough to drive you and keep you focused. If you focus on money, you might miss out on the entire purpose of your Journey and your Success which can ultimately hinder you from achieving the initial goals you are striving for.

What many don’t know about Online and Network Marketing is that it is much more than just the money. People are building themselves as Leaders, Individuals and all around Better People who can give back to this world. In result money is the most wonderful BENEFIT we get from doing this.

So back to the basis of this post… Making high goals are not as “Scary” as people make them out to be. It actually can be your saving grace and answer to more success, money and confidence.

This is a key ingredient to your goal achieving success… do NOT be afraid of making higher goals because ultimately you will come out much higher and more successful than you would have if you aimed low. Make high goals so when you achieve them (even if it is not as high as you wanted it to be when you get there) you will still be proud of yourself and know it was worth it! Aiming low will ultimately not get you where you want to be and in result it will take longer to reach your initial dream.

5 IMPORTANT Steps To Achieving Higher Goals:

1. Importance – Goals are an important step to achieving success. They give us something to focus on and strive for.

2. Connected to the Heart – Remembering that goals have to initially go deeper than just money. It has to be connected to your heart and people, places and things that are important to you.

3. Beneficial Goals – Creating a goal that in result will bring you happiness, joy and a sense of accomplishment. Most of these goals are more so about helping someone else verses yourself.

4. Benefit – Money is not the goal it is the BENEFIT we get from our goals being achieved.

5. Higher Goals - Do not allow disappointment to get in your way, don’t beat yourself up when you don’t get to the high goal you were aiming for just yet, it will come I promise… or it will open a new door to the success you are searching for. Allow yourself to reach higher than you ever have. So ultimately in the long run you will achieve much more than you ever would aiming low. Reach for the stars and remember the sky is not the limit… because there is NO LIMIT to what you can achieve!

So there you go… 5 IMPORTANT Steps to achieving higher goals. Always put the BELIEF necessary in yourself and in your goals to truly attain the success you are looking for. It is so very crucial, important and beneficial to achieving any goal you place before yourself.

Your turn…what did you think? Do you have  any advice or tips on achieving goals? What is a goal that you achieved by aiming high? Would love to hear any feedback, comments or stories below! Always an honor to hear from you…

Beautiful reminders these are! My favorite part is where money is NOT the goal, but for me it’s those you can help along the way.

Wonderful post! I so agree with you that goals have to go much deeper than money…money is the benefit, not the goal!

    Brilliant way to put it!

And you are right that when my goals help others they make me more focused and determined to achieve them!

I agree that money isn’t a good goal. If it were about money then you would have to figure out how much is enough, and what criteria do you use for that? Money has never been something I was interested in, so it doesn’t drive me ( although I obviously need it to have the lifestyle I want ). My goals are about time with my family, the time to go hiking and do other things I want to do, and other things like that.

Another benefit to aiming beyond just the money is that it potentially opens up other avenues for you to achieve what you really want, ways that you could never dream of.

@Wayne You had a wonderful point on how money is not so much an interest but of course a need to having the lifestyle we want. Your goals are exactly what should be goals… mine are definitely in the same area… mainly being able to spend everyday with my daughters and not having to spend all my time with someone who does not give a darn about me, my children or my future. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!

Jennifer, Thank you for always sharing such incredible content :) . As I was reading your post I felt like I had the “bobble-head syndrome” lol. Mostly at goals being connected at the heart similiar to your reason.. Why… and I couldn’t agree more.. money is definitely the benefit (honestly I think number 5 can encompass a blog post or two.. seriously! ). I just listened to a leadership series by John Maxwell. Where he talks about being Growth Driven.. not Goal Driven (powerful). I look forward to reading more.. Life is great!Sye- :)

What a great post! I think that 2 & 3 are especially important. When we focus our goals on helping others get everything they want, we will invariably be blessed beyond measure as well. Relationships are what make all of this worthwhile.

  8. Oliver Tausend Says:

    Hi Jennifer,

awesome post about goal setting, thanks for sharing. The trouble is that most people set themselves too ambitious short-term goals and long-term goals that are too low. I used to do that too. They underestimate what they can achieve in seven years and overestimate what they can do in one year. Any type of pressure, fear of failure or disappointed are rooted in an inapprobriate time frame rather than in the goal itself.

    Take care

@Oliver I definitely agree, sometimes people underestimate what they truly can achieve which leaves them short handed in the end. Always AIM HIGH… no matter what you will get to the initial goal a heck of a lot faster than if you didn’t!

    Jennifer,

Great post…very informative and thought provoking.

In my experience in workiing toward certain outcomes:

No matter what I desire in this world, I believe
in seriously thinking long and hard about it. I
know that as surely as the sun rises in the east
and sets in the west, that which I have focused
on will be drawn into my life…whether it be
    freedom, abundance, love etc.

And I agree with you, aim high in what you
    want to achieve.

Thanks for sharing this post Jennifer.

    Hey Jenn

Love posts about goals, the thing that I have found personally with setting my own is that along they way inevitably I am led to a whole new idea or goal or another path I am going to take, which mean re assessing my goals.

I think without my goals I tend to procrastinate more and it takes me so much longer to get anything done, especially when you are a mum with a family to run!

    cheers

    Hi Jenn!

I wanted to tell you that I agree with you 100%. When I decided to make money on internet more than 4 years ago it was all I wanted to do, make more money. I don’t need to tell you, at that time I never made a single dime, I was trying to sell everybody, anywhere I could.

Now my goal is so pure and simple that I cannot fail. I just want to help people empower their life, that’s it.

And by the way I have a post that could interest you and your readers, it gets people attention on truly loving and helping others instead of selling day in and day out. It is the easiest way to make money for the rest of our life.

@Guillaume I think many of us start out the same way… when I started years ago on my search I too wanted to just make enough money to be home with my children. But what is wonderful is if we are open… new doors, opportunities and experiences happen to bring in the true path to success. Any True Entrepreneur is here to HELP others and definitely has a much higher purpose than just money.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! :)
