What if the tasks we do day in and day out would actually provide us joy and happiness? As I was in Zumba Class today (Part of my first goal in My “Achieve 3 Ultimate Goals” In 30 Days Challenge) I was seriously having a blast (so much fun!) working out my entire body in a very challenging way and it was there that it dawned on me…
If we all ACHIEVE JOY and CREATE FUN in the most daunting of tasks… it will release the actual feeling of it being “daunting” or discouraging. I personally have a very important goal to achieve this month with in my 30 Day Challenge (<==Join my 30 Day Challenge By Clicking)… and that is to achieve and integrate a much healthier lifestyle by creating health in my body, heart and being while losing the last 10 pounds I have been procrastinating losing for the last 6 months. I wanted to achieve this goal by actually enjoying myself and that was to do it in a way that brought me joy, so as it was incorporated into my life as a “Good Habit”… I would build the habit from joy, not from “Having” to get it done..

So I thought I would share with you How To Achieve Joy In The Most Daunting Of Tasks in 3 Simple Strategies…
1.Incorporate Something That Brings You Joy Into Your Task – When pursuing a task that may seem daunting at first, you will want incorporate something of joy, something that provides and creates fun to the task. If you acquire combining the two, you will then look forward to those so called daunting tasks in your life.
2. Release Any “Required” Emotions - Making the task a part of your day you enjoy. Do not feel like you “Have” to get it done or are “Required” to do this task to achieve your goal… But replace those feelings with happiness, joy and excitement to accomplish it and to actually do the task at hand. Basically taking away the mindset that it is a responsibility but an actual moment of joy that you look forward to. (You can learn how to truly achieve these by meditating, focusing and growing your inner self and working on personal development).
3. Find Your Inner Happiness – Bring your inner experiences, present experiences and visualizations of true joy and happiness and allow yourself to really FEEL them when you are doing a task that may seem daunting. This will integrate feelings of joy into your task and thus allowing you to look forward to pursuing and accomplishing it with out feeling “Required” or overwhelmed.
Now it is your turn… what did you think? Do you experience joy in the tasks that may seem daunting in your life? Do incorporate joy into the tasks you do day in an day out? Please share any thoughts, feedback or feelings below. I always love to hear from you!
In addition if you felt this helped you in anyway please share the love and pass it along below! Thank you so very much and have a beautiful day!
To Your Unlimited Success,

Such and inspired post Jennifer!
It’s true, if we can even find something to be joyful about in our minds while doing our most daunting tasks (even so much as thinking about how we’ll feel once we’ve accomplished them!), then the task becomes easier and we’ll be releasing any tension along with its completion!
Thank you as always for being so uplifting!
Wishing You Brilliant Success!

Hey Jenn ~ there use to be a lot of things in my life that I could put under this category, the feeling of dread of even the thought of having to do them, but like you I have changed my mindset to accept that those things need to be done and just go with the flow.
I have learned over time and through experience that it actually takes more of my energy to feel the dread and still have to do something, then to just live and let go and make the most of a situation and find your inner happiness with it. Negative emotions are such a waste of time and energy
Great points
cheers ~ Nat

@Nat I definitely agree on how it takes so much more energy to feel dread and unhappiness verses truly allowing joy into our entire being which in return gives us the feeling of joy no matter what “task” we need to achieve. Inner happiness is something we already have.. you just have to choose to connect with it. Once you do your entire world will be free and the so daunting tasks will become a whole lot more joyful! Thanks for the contribution!

I think the more we can keep ourselves happy and positive when we go through anything, especially if it’s negative, the better the outcome will be. If you keep dwelling on the negative and focusing on how much your life could be better if this or that but don’t take action then things will likely not turn out how you want. Keep it all in perspective, that’s one of the hardest things to do but one of the best if you can do it!

Hi Jennifer, Great post and you are so right!
When I think about it, even the most seemingly daunting tasks have a positive if viewed in the right light, even if its just how good it will feel to have it done!
I was reading through your post thinking how much the right music can help, but I see Heather beat me to it on that one. I also love Nat’s comment about how much energy dreading something expends.

@Rowena Thank you! I agree with you 100%… it is all about how you view and feel about it. You control your feelings and inner happiness not the task at hand! Music is a huge part of my allowing happiness into my daily tasks… it is always so uplifting!

Great post, Jennifer! I know that there are some things that I dread, and there is a part of me that still kind of dreads the dissertation even though I know I won’t start it for another year. What helps me, if it is a long-term thing, is to try to break it down into smaller, more manageable parts. That way it is a little bit easier not to get overwhelmed.

Sometimes all it takes to have joy in your life is to decide to “have joy in your life”. Even the mundane tasks we all undertake can be enjoyed if we focus on why we are doing them. I love having my music going and singing along when I am doing “those things”.

Another great post, Jen!!!
I love turning on the radio to some great music while I clean around the house, it always makes the task fun, my kids start to dance and we laugh. It’s amazing how little joys come out of daunting tasks when adding joy to them.
Thanks for sharing, Jen!!!

Great Post Jenn,
It is extremely true that when we find something joyful in the task we’ll be able to accomplish greater things. As you know, I’m moving! Packing isn’t a fun task at all however, while I’m packing I am envisioning the beaches and warm weather of Florida. When I focus on that I am able to get so much more done!
Thanks for sharing.

@Susan Thank you! Yep… moving is definitely a daunting task but you are definitely utilizing it to visualize and create a positive experience from it. Any daunting task I come into each day with I implement meditation within that time. It allows me to triple my meditation time and become more aware to the present. I am jealous about being near the beach girl… I miss the beach so much!
